A grant application should have The aim of artistic work grants is to provide a distinguished artist with a reasonable livelihood for creative and performing artistic work abroad or in Finland. The grant recipient is expected to partly or wholly give up other full-time employment that would disturb artistic work.

Grants for arts projects
Various grants for arts projects are awarded to artists and teams for other expenses related to artistic work (e.g. exhibitions, performances, publishing, tool purchases, rents or renovations of work rooms and further education).
Note! The Arts Council of South Savo will award the grants for the art projects of 2008 in one (1) stages due to changes in our administration. Closing date: 29.11.2008

Culture and art organisations, communities, institutions and teams in South Savo can apply for state subsidies.

A PDF application form can be printed for various grants and subsidies on this site (print with Adobe Acrobat Reader). The form must be printed with a printer that uses ink that is suitable for archiving, e.g. a laser printer.
Further information on materials and inks with archiving capacity is available in the decision of the National Archive.
Applications must be sent to the office of the Arts Council of South Savo by the closing date (post stamp date). Applications will not be accepted by email.
When the office is closed, applications can be delivered to the letter box of the Arts Council of South Savo at Vuorikatu 3 A, 50100 MIKKELI. The application must be in the letter box on the closing day by 4 pm.

- an estimate of costs and depending on the case
- copies of gallery or other endorsements

Grants for art work
The Arts Council can award grants for implementing artistic work plans of various lengths. The work can take anything from a few months up to five years. No tax is deducted from the grant.

Savings
In addition, if savings occur, the Arts Council may still award grants for art projects at the end of the year. They will cover for costs created during the current year retroactively.

State subsidies for communities and organisations
The Arts Council of South Savo strives at promoting participation in culture as well as the emergence of personal knowledge of art needed for receiving art. The Council assists the performance and training activities of local art organisations, communities and art groups in Finland as well as in international contexts
