SISU – Finnish photography 2.-31.12.2006

Jan Pohribný worked as an invited regional artist in South Savo 2005-2006. He produced an exhibition of Finnish photography in Cheb which presented the works of Mitro Kontturi, Olli Jaatinen, Päivi-Maria Jaatinen and Susanna Pälviä from South Savo.

TINA B Contemporary art festival, Praha 1.-28.6.2006

Artists Maisa Tikkanen, Esa Tuomiranta, Ritva-Liisa Virtanen from South Savo and the regional artists Kirsimaria E. Törönen-Ripatti and Jan Pohribný participated as invited artists in TINA B - Contemporary Art Festival in Prague in May-June 2006.

Also the Apollo work of art was presented on the Finnish Art and Culture Day that was hosted by the Finnish Embassy to Prague. The team included the dancer Jukka Ristolainen, violinist Susanna Mieskonen-Makkonen, the regional artists Susanna Kolehmainen, Matti Makkonen, Kirsimaria E. Törönen-Ripatti and Jan Pohribný.

The CzeCze documentary workshop directed by Kaija Juurikkala was part of the exhibition

The exhibition carries on the cooperation between the Arts Council of South Savo and the Ministry of Culture in the Czech Republic. The Local?Global? exhibition presented the works of artists from South Savo in Prague in spring 2005. The Czech artists elected to the Local Global 2 exhibition were Veronica Bromová (b. 1966), Krištof Kintera (b. 1973), Petr Písa?ík (b. 1968), Vladimír Skrepl (b. 1955) and Adam Vackar (b. 1979). The curator of the exhibitions was Monika Burian, Vernon Fine Art Int.

The exhibition was produced in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture in the Czech Republic, Vernon Fine Art International and the Arts Council of South Savo.


LOCALGLOBAL - exhibition of contemporary art from South Savo in Prague 8.3. - 6.4.2005

Monica Burian, Vernon Fine Art was in charge of the selection, installation and organisation of the exhibition in Prague. The exhibition was implemented together with the Czech Ministry of Culture, the Finnish Embassy to Prague and Vernon Fine Art Intl.

Participants in the exhibition were Ritva-Liisa Virtanen, Maisa Tikkanen, Esa Tuomiranta, Juha Lahtinen, Raija Marttinen, Päivi-Maria and Olli Jaatinen and Hanna Vahvaselkä.


FESTIVAL BÁSNIKU 25. - 29.4.2005
The regional artist for literary art Susanna Kolehmainen and the poet Jyrki Heikkinen performed in Olomouc. An exhibition of Ari Jaskari’s photography took place at the festival in Galerie U Mloka.


JUHA TASKINEN’S PHOTOGRAPHS IN PRAGUE 1.-30.10.2003

The Arts Council of South Savo produced a photograph exhibition of the photographer Juha Taskinen at the exhibition rooms in Novometska Radnice (The New Town Hall) in October 2003. Simultaneously Viktor Kopasz’s photography from Prague was presented in the Mikkeli Photographic Centre.


JINE FINSKO 2002

The project was carried out by the arts councils of North Karelia, Satakunta, Pirkanmaa, Ostrobothnia, South Savo and Central Finland together. The programme was compiled from the works chosen by each arts council.


SCANDINAVIAN HOUSE, PRAHA

The objective of the Arts Council is that one artist from South Savo could be presented in Prague every year. This also involves a return visit of an artist from Prague to the South Savo region.

The cooperation with the Scandinavian House, started by the Arts Council in 2004, means that at least one artist from South Savo is presented in Café Nordica annually.
